The study employed a single-factor Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with seven treatments: T1 (100:0), T2 (70:30), T3 (60:40), T4 (50:50), T5 (40:60), T6 (30:70), and T7 (0:100). The results showed that the proportion of tempe gembus and oyster mushroom significantly affected the water solubility index, color profile, glutamate content, and ash content of the plant-based flavor enhancer. This is due to the growth of microorganisms, particularly pathogenic bacteria. Therefore, processing fresh milk into powdered milk is one way to preserve the nutrients in milk. The addition of ingredients such as maltodextrin is necessary to serve as a carrier agent in the drying process. The objective of this study is to determine the effect of maltodextrin addition on the physical and chemical characteristics of goat milk powder using a drum dryer method. In this study, a Randomized Block Design (RBD) was used with four different treatments based on variations in maltodextrin concentration, namely 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20%, each repeated twice to ensure the validity of the results. The data obtained were analyzed to assess the effect of the treatments on various quality parameters, such as moisture content, ash content, protein content, carbohydrate content, solubility, yield, fat content, and hygroscopic properties. The results of the analysis of goat milk powder with maltodextrin addition using the drum dryer method in treatment P4 were moisture content (2.40%), ash content (3.41%), protein (10.16), fat (29.51%), carbohydrate (56.92), hygroscopicity (30.31%), solubility (90.02), and yield (98.93). Theoretically, the Balanced Scorecard emphasizes that business performance should be achieved by balancing financial and non-financial aspects. In reality, the Kuritos business demonstrates relatively good financial performance but still faces limitations in production capacity and employee productivity, resulting in suboptimal overall performance. This gap between the ideal condition and the actual situation forms the basis of this study. This research aims to analyze Kuritos' business performance across financial and non-financial dimensions using the Balanced Scorecard approach. The study employs a case study design with a qualitative descriptive approach supported by quantitative data. The results indicate that financial performance is considered good, with an R/C ratio of 1.20 and a break-even point already achieved; however, business profits remain relatively low relative to the regional minimum wage. In terms of non-financial aspects, customer and employee satisfaction are relatively high, but production volume and employee productivity have not yet reached the expected targets. One effort to overcome was to soak the seeds used gibberellin (GA<sub>3</sub>). The aim of&nbsp; research was to determine the effect of the combination of gibberellin (GA<sub>3</sub>) concentration and soaking time to germination of snakefruit seeds. This experiment was conducted&nbsp; at the Screenhouse of the Horticultural Seed Center UPTD, Jatinangor, Sumedang at an altitude of 800 meters&nbsp; above sea level, from April to June 2024. The experimental method used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 7 combination treatments of gibberellin (GA3) concentration and soaking time consisted of A (0 mg.L-1 GA3, 24 hours); B (30 mg.L-1 GA3, 12 hours); C (30 mg.L-1 GA3, 24 hours); D (60 mg.L-1 GA3, 12 hours); E (60 mg.L-1 GA3, 24 hours); F (90 mg.L-1 GA3, 12 hours); and G (90 mg.L-1 GA3, 24 hours)), each repeated 4 times. The results showed that the combination of gibberellin (GA3) concentration and soaking time affected on seed germination power, germination speed, seed height, number of leaves and root volume. The combination of gibberellin (GA3) concentration and soaking time of 30 mg.L-1 GA3, 24 hours (C), gave the best effect on seed germination power, germination speed and seed height. Teknik budidaya yang mengatur cahaya dan populasi tanaman berpotensi memengaruhi pertumbuhan serta akumulasi metabolit sekunder. Penelitian ini mengkaji respons pegagan terhadap naungan paranet 50% dan tiga jarak tanam di Ciburial, Cimenyan, Bandung, pada ketinggian 1.300 m dpl. Percobaan menggunakan rancangan petak terbagi dengan empat ulangan. Perlakuan naungan, yaitu tanpa naungan dan naungan 50%, ditempatkan sebagai petak utama, sedangkan jarak tanam 20 cm x 20 cm, 30 cm x 30 cm, dan 40 cm x 40 cm sebagai anak petak. Peubah yang diamati meliputi tinggi tanaman, jumlah anakan, jumlah daun, bobot segar, bobot kering, dan kandungan asiaticoside dengan metode HPLC. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa naungan dan jarak tanam tidak berinteraksi pada sebagian besar peubah pertumbuhan dan hasil, tetapi berinteraksi pada kandungan asiaticoside. Kandungan asiaticoside tertinggi diperoleh pada kombinasi naungan 50% dan jarak tanam 30 cm x 30 cm, yaitu 2,60%. The method used was an experiment with two treatments and six replications, namely silage stored in drum silos (P1) and silage stored in plastic silos (P2). The organoleptic parameters observed included aroma, taste, color, and texture, while the palatability parameters included feeding duration and silage intake. Data were analyzed using the Shapiro-Wilk test for normality, followed by the Mann-Whitney test because the data were not normally distributed. The results showed that there were no significant differences (p&gt;0.05) between treatments P1 and P2 for all organoleptic and palatability parameters. The average scores for aroma, taste, color, and texture indicated that both treatments produced high-quality silage that was well-accepted by both panelists and livestock. This indicates that both types of storage containers, drum silos and plastic silos, were able to maintain optimal fermentation conditions during ensiling without reducing the organoleptic quality and palatability of silage.</em></p> Sari Suryanah Aldena Bina Salimah Syifa Nurjannah Copyright (c) 2026 COMPOSITE : Jurnal Ilmu Pertanian 2026-07-29 2026-07-29 8 2 127 133 Pengaruh Level Konsorsium Mikroba terhadap Kandungan ADF, NDF, Selulosa, Hemiselulosa dan Lignin Jerami Jagung Kering Terfermentasi untuk Pakan Ruminansia https://ejournal.uicm.ac.id/index.php/composite/article/view/1124 <p>Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh level konsorsium mikroba (EM4) terhadap kandungan ADF, NDF, selulosa, hemiselulosa, dan lignin pada jerami jagung kering hasil fermentasi anaerob. Penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri atas tiga perlakuan, yaitu P0 (0% EM4), P1 (5% EM4), dan P2 (10% EM4). Parameter yang diamati meliputi kandungan ADF, NDF, selulosa, hemiselulosa, dan lignin setelah fermentasi. Hasil analisis ragam menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan level EM4 berpengaruh sangat nyata (P&lt;0,01) terhadap penurunan kandungan ADF, NDF, selulosa, dan lignin, tetapi tidak berpengaruh nyata (P&gt;0,05) terhadap hemiselulosa. Perlakuan P2 menghasilkan nilai terbaik dengan kandungan ADF 40,08%, NDF 59,00%, selulosa 37,01%, hemiselulosa 18,91%, dan lignin 3,08%. However, maize production is constrained by infestations of the fall armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda), a destructive pest capable of causing substantial yield losses. Botanical pesticides have emerged as an environmentally friendly alternative for managing this pest. This study aimed to evaluate the ingestion toxicity of acetone extract of Mimosa pudica L. against S. frugiperda. The experiment was conducted at the Plant Pest and Disease Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Islam Sumatera Utara, from April 24 to October 15, 2022. A completely randomized design (CRD) with a single factor was applied, consisting of five treatments: control, 0.125%, 0.25%, 0.375%, and 0.5% acetone extract of M. pudica, each with five replications. Fresh M. pudica plants were extracted using acetone solvent, and the resulting extract was applied as an ingestion treatment to S. frugiperda larvae. The observed parameters included larval mortality, median lethal time (LT??), and median lethal concentration (LC??). The highest extract concentration (0.5%) resulted in 90% larval mortality, indicating a concentration-dependent increase in insecticidal activity. Lower concentrations produced reduced mortality rates, demonstrating that the efficacy of the extract increased with concentration. These findings indicate that acetone extract of M. pudica has considerable potential as a botanical insecticide for the sustainable management of S. frugiperda</em></p> Dewi Wulan Sari Copyright (c) 2026 COMPOSITE : Jurnal Ilmu Pertanian 2026-07-29 2026-07-29 8 2 143 149 Pengaruh Dosis EM4 pada Fermentasi Anaerob Fakultatif Daun Tebu Kering terhadap Fraksi Serat https://ejournal.uicm.ac.id/index.php/composite/article/view/1126 <p>Daun tebu kering merupakan limbah pertanian yang melimpah, namun pemanfaatannya sebagai pakan ruminansia terbatas oleh tingginya kandungan serat, terutama lignin, yang menghambat kecernaan. Fermentasi anaerob fakultatif menggunakan bioaktivator EM4 berpotensi menurunkan fraksi serat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh dosis EM4 pada fermentasi anaerob fakultatif daun tebu kering terhadap kandungan fraksi serat, serta menentukan dosis EM4 yang paling efektif dalam menurunkannya. Penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimental dengan rancangan acak lengkap yang terdiri atas empat taraf dosis EM4 (0, 1, 2, dan 3 mL) dengan lima ulangan. Daun tebu kering dicampur dedak padi (10%) dan molases (3%), kemudian difermentasi secara anaerob fakultatif selama 21 hari. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis ragam, dan apabila terdapat pengaruh nyata dilanjutkan dengan uji jarak berganda Duncan. Peubah yang diamati meliputi kandungan <em>neutral detergent fiber</em>, <em>acid detergent fiber</em>, selulosa, hemiselulosa, dan lignin. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan dosis EM4 berpengaruh nyata (P?0,05) dalam menurunkan kandungan <em>neutral detergent fiber, acid detergent fiber</em>, dan selulosa, tetapi tidak berpengaruh nyata (P&gt;0,05) terhadap kandungan hemiselulosa dan lignin. One of the adaptation strategies promoted by the Indonesian government is the implementation of Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA). This study aimed to analyze the level of CSA and examine its implementation in supporting the improvement of potato farming productivity in Garut Regency, Indonesia. The study employed a mixed-methods approach using a concurrent embedded case study design. The respondents consisted of five farmers participating in the ICARE Program, selected through a census technique. Quantitative data were collected through field observations, questionnaires, and actual productivity data before and after CSA implementation, and were analyzed descriptively. Qualitative data were obtained through semi-structured interviews and analyzed using thematic analysis. The results showed that the cumulative adoption level of CSA innovation components was classified as high, with a score of 495 (94.29%). The average potato productivity increased from 14.6 tons/ha to 34.0 tons/ha following CSA implementation. The main factors supporting successful adoption included extension assistance, access to information, the observable benefits of innovation, and farmers' expectations of increased farm profitability. Meanwhile, the main constraints to CSA implementation included limited financial resources, restricted access to certified seeds, and the need to adapt the technology to local agroecosystem conditions.
